Who We Treat

Pediatric+Endocrinologist+Annapolis+-+Parker+Place

The medical practice at Parker Place is directed by Dr. Elizabeth Parker, a board-certified pediatric endocrinologist, whose focus is on using lifestyle choices to treat, in whole or in part, many medical problems facing children and adolescents today.

The same problems that are affecting many adults in our society, such as Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity, are becoming increasingly prevalent in children and youth as well.  Our providers welcome children and teens who may be struggling to maintain a healthy weight and whose weight may be affecting their health.  These conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • High cholesterol

  • High blood pressure

  • Insulin resistance

  • Pre-diabetes

  • Type 2 diabetes

  • Insulin resistance

  • Elevated liver enzymes

  • Chronic constipation

In addition, our providers treat a variety of general pediatric endocrine disorders including but not limited to:

  • Thyroid, pituitary or adrenal problems

  • Poor growth

  • Short stature

  • Early or late puberty

  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)

  • Turner syndrome

  • Klinefelter syndrome

  • Calcium and Vitamin D disorders

Our providers also treat children and adolescents who may be experiencing nutritional deficiencies or hormone imbalances, either independently of other problems or as a result of other medical issues. Our office’s kind, discreet, and judgment-free approach to care makes us an ideal resource for families dealing with sensitive health concerns or who need additional support in helping their child build healthy habits.

Finally, under our new RISE wellness initiative, Dr. Parker now offers doctor-facilitated wellness consultations to any individual or family seeking to make positive changes in their health. These unique, self-pay consultations are completely customized based on your unique wellness goal or challenge, and you’ll receive Dr. Parker’s undivided attention, support, and carefully curated resources. Learn more about our RISE program here.

If you feel your child would benefit from a consultation in our medical practice, please speak with your child’s primary care doctor or feel free to give us a call directly to speak to a member of our staff. I just recently took my daughter to Parker Place to see Dr. Parker and the office is very clean. Jennifer, the office manager is very nice and friendly and a big help! Dr. Parker is also very kind and friendly. She took the time and listened to my daughter and I and asked questions, I never felt rushed or like she was in a hurry to get us out of the office (this I have experienced at some other offices). If anyone asks if I know any good pediatric endocrinologists, I will definitely refer Parker Place.
