We’ve got something very exciting planned for September that we can’t wait to announce! But first, we’re so excited to share the scoop on all the great things that took place this past month at Parker Place!
We promised in our last post that we’d be sharing some exciting news about upcoming events at Parker Place…and now, we’re proud to announce our Awesome August! The end of summer is near, and we’re ready to make this month one that will keep kids and families smiling well into the fall!
In case you’re new to our blog, Parker Place is a children’s wellness center offering dynamic classes for kids, teens, parents and caregivers in all the most important building blocks for good health. From exercise to cooking to nutrition and beyond, we’ve got it covered! Best of all, we’re opening our doors for some exclusive “sneak peeks” in August and it’s the perfect opportunity to check us out! Read on for the details on these three fantastic events!
We had so much fun last month at our grand opening celebration that we couldn’t wait to welcome more wonderful families to Parker Place! Our first-ever Pop-In event, held last Saturday, gave Annapolis kids and parents alike a great opportunity to sample our programs.
We opened the doors to Parker Place to the greater Annapolis community on Saturday, July 28th with much anticipation. Our staff and instructors could not wait to share all the wonderful programs that Parker Place has to offer. By the end of the day, we all agreed the day was a grand opening success!
Fun from the Start
As our first attendees arrived they were welcomed into our cheerful office. Music was already playing and the Hip Hop mini-class was just beginning. Children of all ages joined in the fun one by one, following the moves of our instructor, Margareta. It was hard for anyone to resist getting into the action. Some even came up with their own creative routines!
Parker Place is not just a place where children get resources to help them lead a healthier lifestyle- parents and siblings do too! Just one of the many things that I love about Dr. Parker’s vision that is coming to life this month!!!
Being a Chef (to your kids) is Hard
As a mom of two children, I understand how difficult it is for children to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Let’s be honest, it can sometimes feel like trying to get a greased watermelon out of the pool. I find myself at loose ends. I am a caterer, third generation cook and self-proclaimed “foodie”. So, my children have daily access to a plethora of culinary offerings. But, I offer my kiddos food masterpieces and they are rejected. Sometimes, I dig in my heals, and watch them sulk over a plate of cold peas. Other times, I surrender out of despair and make another bowl of oatmeal, and not the good for you kind.
