Parker Place is not just a place where children get resources to help them lead a healthier lifestyle- parents and siblings do too! Just one of the many things that I love about Dr. Parker’s vision that is coming to life this month!!!
Being a Chef (to your kids) is Hard
As a mom of two children, I understand how difficult it is for children to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Let’s be honest, it can sometimes feel like trying to get a greased watermelon out of the pool. I find myself at loose ends. I am a caterer, third generation cook and self-proclaimed “foodie”. So, my children have daily access to a plethora of culinary offerings. But, I offer my kiddos food masterpieces and they are rejected. Sometimes, I dig in my heals, and watch them sulk over a plate of cold peas. Other times, I surrender out of despair and make another bowl of oatmeal, and not the good for you kind.
How do we lead a healthier lifestyle?
So how do we do it all? How do we perform well at work, get household duties done, make it to every swim meat and lacrosse practice, attend to our family’s daily needs and get a well-balanced meal on the table? How do we get our children to make their own healthy food choices, and do so with a sense of confidence and excitement?
Meal Planning Classes for Parents
Parker Place is your one stop shop. While your child is enjoying a class about “Eating the Rainbow”, you can be sitting in on one of my “meal prep for the week” classes. Take the guess work out of the dinner time blues. I’ll give you a custom grocery list, easy, wholesome recipes, realistic expectations, proven food prep practices, hands on step by step instructions and a new collection of ideas. As a parenting team of gladiators, together we will get that watermelon out of the pool, dice it, serve it on a silver platter and go for a victory lap. Or, if you prefer, plop onto that flamingo float and bask in the glory.
Go check out our classes page to see more parent classes, and I’ll see you at Parker Place!
