RISE FAQ

What kinds of topics can be covered in a RISE consultation?

Virtually any wellness issue, and especially those related to lifestyle habits, can be addressed in a RISE consultation: weight management, nutrition, food selection, physical activity, stress management, sleep habits, and even family dynamics surrounding health and wellness. If you’re unsure whether your particular concern is a good fit for RISE, just ask when you contact us! (If we’re not the best resource for your family, we’ll make every effort to help steer you in the right direction!)

Who can come in for a RISE consultation?

Anyone! Children and teenagers (with their parent’s permission, of course), moms, dads, grandparents, caregivers, and any combination of the above are welcome to come in for a RISE visit. Some families start by having a parent meet with Dr. Parker or Dr. Mogavero first, and then bring in the other family members for followup visits - the structure is completely up to you and what works best for your family!

When I come in for a RISE consultation, who will I be working with?

All RISE consultations are facilitated by Dr. Elizabeth Parker or Dr. Jeannine Mogavero, both experts in lifestyle medicine and how healthy habits can build a foundation for a lifetime of wellness. Our administrative staff will work with you on scheduling your visit(s).

What kinds of resources will I receive in a RISE consultation?

Dr. Parker and Dr. Mogavero personally curate our resource collection, which includes exclusive guides and tracking sheets created in-house here at Parker Place as well as information from leading, physician-approved health organizations and experts. You also will have access to our lending library of health and wellness books and DVDs for all ages.

How does a RISE consultation differ from a medical appointment?

A RISE consultation is completely flexible when it comes to what topics can be explored, whereas a medical appointment is centered on specific medical conditions or symptoms. RISE consultations also do not include any type of physical exam or extensive discussion of your medical history, things that are required as part of a standard medical appointment. In addition, because our RISE visits are offered on an affordable self-pay basis, they are not subject to insurance authorization and do not require any referrals from your doctor.

It’s important to remember that, when meeting with Dr. Parker or Dr. Mogavero for a RISE consultation, they’re providing you with wellness-related advice and resources, but are not acting as your doctor, nor are you entering into a doctor-patient relationship. Your visits with Dr. Parker or Dr. Mogavero should not be considered a substitute for regular medical care from your physician.

If you’re considering a RISE consultation for your child or teenager and aren’t sure whether a medical appointment through our pediatric endocrinology practice would be a better fit, please feel free to contact us directly and we’ll be happy to advise you!

Are RISE consultations covered by insurance?

No. Because these consultations are general wellness visits, and not medical appointments, they are not covered by medical insurance. That being said, our goal is to provide as much value as possible for your investment.

What is the cost for a RISE consultation?

Initial visits and single/standalone visits are priced at $350 for 60 minutes with Dr. Parker or Dr. Mogavero. Options for followup visits will be presented during your initial consultation, and are priced by duration and format (in-person or virtual). You can learn more on our pricing page.

What payment methods do you accept?

We gladly take all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express), as well as cash and checks made payable to Elizabeth A. Parker, MD.

When are RISE appointments available?

We make every effort to work with your schedule, and have reserved both morning and late afternoon/evening times exclusively for RISE consultations. When you contact us for an appointment, we’ll discuss your scheduling needs and do all we can to find something that works for you and your family.

What is your cancellation policy for a RISE consultation?

Because we reserve time in our schedule specifically for RISE consultations - including times not made available to medical patients - we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule a RISE visit in order to avoid a last-minute cancellation fee.

Do I have to come in for more than one visit?

Absolutely not! Our initial RISE consultations are purposely structured to provide tremendous value when it comes to your preferred topic(s). However, as achieving optimal health is a journey, we encourage you to consider returning for followup visits if you feel that accountability for your goals would be beneficial to you, or if you’d like to receive ongoing education and support as you make positive changes to your lifestyle. We will be happy to help you put together an action plan that suits your personal health objectives and your budget.

Are RISE consultations confidential?

Yes! Your privacy, and the confidentiality of the information you and your family share with us, will be respected at all times.

How do I schedule a RISE consultation?

Easy! Just contact our office and we’ll get you on the calendar. We can’t wait to hear from you and to support you and your family on your journey to better health!
