Announcing an Exciting New Service: Counseling with Dr. Kimberley Palmiotto!
An important part of our mission here at Parker Place has always been supporting all aspects of a healthy lifestyle, which of course includes mental health and emotional well-being. That means we’re beyond thrilled to share our newest service:
Counseling for Kids, Teens, Parents & Families!
Dr. Kimberley Palmiotto, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, is now offering a variety of therapy services right here in the Parker Place office. Incorporating positive psychology, expressive therapies and expertise in children's brain development and learning, Dr. Palmiotto welcomes the opportunity to support families in many ways:
Individual therapy for children, teens and young adults (ages 3-21)
Coaching for kids and families to improve executive functioning skills
Consulting with parents to help them help their children to thrive
Counseling for whole family units wanting to work together toward a happier, less stressful home life
Some of Dr. Palmiotto’s areas of expertise include anxiety, ADHD, autism, relationship conflicts, self-esteem, social skills, and more. This makes her a perfect fit for kids and families who struggle with navigating day-to-day stressors that affect their lives at home, at school, and in the community.
In addition to her one-on-one and family counseling, Dr. Palmiotto will be facilitating a number of small groups, each focusing on a specific age range, purpose and goals. These groups are an ideal way for kids to interact with peers, practice social skills, improve their communication, learn to navigate friendships and stressors, and support one another. These groups will meet regularly at Parker Place for a one-of-a-kind enrichment experience.
Dr. Palmiotto also conducts psychoeducational assessments which serve a number of functions:
Diagnosing ADHD, autism, learning disorders and mental/behavioral health disorders
Determining a child's strengths and weaknesses in many of the areas that affect their learning and academic performance
Demonstrating how parents can give their child the tools they need to succeed
Dr. Palmiotto shares our commitment to empowering and inspiring families to be healthier and happier, and she is a wonderful addition to our team. She is currently in the process of becoming credentialed to accept several commercial and state insurances, and in the meantime, is happy to see clients on a self-pay basis.
