MEGAN MOORE, SOCIAL WORK INTERN

Megan Moore is a current Graduate Student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW). In 2023, she graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. In her undergraduate studies, Megan interned in the Research and Analysis Department at the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services in Anne Arundel County and with the Department of Juvenile Services in Prince George’s County. Upon graduating in May 2023, she was offered a full-time position as a Case Management Specialist with the Department of Juvenile Services. Throughout her time as a Case Management Specialist, she worked with juvenile offenders and their families to allocate appropriate resources, monitor probation conditions, provide support in court, and collaborate with service providers, school administrators, court personnel, law enforcement, youth, and families to address individualized needs. Her previous work experience inspired her to pursue a higher education in social work to advocate for justice. 

Megan is currently interning with Parker Place under the supervision of Maggie Yuce, LCSW-C, and is available to provide affordable, solutions-focused counseling to kids and families. Megan is passionate about promoting early intervention to connect children and families to resources and improve long-term outcomes by providing appropriate care. 

Originally from Los Angeles, California, Megan moved to Maryland for college in 2019 and has stayed ever since! When she is not interning, attending classes, studying, or working part-time at a local spin studio, she loves to hike, travel, play pickleball, and spend time with family and friends.
