Meet Our Team

KIMBERLEY PALMIOTTO, LCPC, PSY.D

Kimberley Palmiotto, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Educational Psychologist, joined the Parker Place team in March 2020.  Outside our practice, she currently provides psychoeducational services and consulting both locally and in other state. Dr. Palmiotto holds a Masters degree in Marital/Family Therapy and a Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology.

Dr. Palmiotto began her career as an art therapist in California, working with children and families involved in Child Protective Services and in residential treatment centers for domestic violence and substance abuse recovery. Her work has included service in outpatient psychiatric units as well as individual and group counseling for children to help them manage anxiety and improve executive functioning. Dr. Palmiotto transitioned to school-based therapy in 1997 and eventually became a school psychologist in Southern California. She has worked in both the public and private school settings, providing counseling and neuro-educational evaluations to families for over 20 years.

Dr. Palmiotto's approach focuses on positive psychology and providing a comprehensive understanding of children's brain development to help children, and the adults supporting them, understand how the growing brain and body impact behavior and learning. She believes that understanding how to create emotionally healthy environments leads to stronger learning and higher emotional intelligence (EQ) in children, which ultimately produces happiness and improved school performance.

When not working, Dr. Palmiotto is always finding ways to practice fun with her four children and husband. She loves mindfulness, reading, anything outdoors in the sun, and creating art. She is also an avid writer and has published multiple books!
